'Cheep' Holiday for School Chickens

School summer holidays are here again, but there are two school residents who will be packing up their bags and going on their holidays too!  Clwyd Community Primary School’s chickens, Sally and Samantha live in the school during term time, but this summer they will be going on their holidays to Swansea Community Farm.
“Sally and Samantha, who were named by the children, have become popular residents at our school and we are extremely grateful to Swansea Community Farm for looking after them for us during the holidays.  They will miss seeing all the children, but hopefully they will be getting a visit from them at the Community Farm.”  Said Year 2 Teacher/Eco Coordinator, Martyn Salway.  “I am looking forward to seeing their holiday snaps in September!” He added.

Speaking about the vacation, Animal Keeper Chris Jones said: “This was an unusual request, but as we have such good links with local primary schools, we didn’t mind them coming on holiday here.  Sally and Samantha will be very happy here and I am sure they will return to school in September with many memories of their time at Swansea Community Farm.”
