Child and Youth

Swansea Community Farm’s Child and Youth programme is  project offering a range of activities for children and young people across Swansea.

Farm Clwb

We run our Farm Clwb on a Saturday from 10am-3.30pm offering volunteering opportunities for young people (aged 10-16 years old), with a wellbeing need. This is broad and can include struggles with mental health, low confidence, anxiety or challenges in school or at home, or for those with a range of disabilities, including neurodevelopmental conditions or physical health issues.

Young volunteers get to choose between working with the animals, which includes animal handling, mucking out, feeding and regular health checks or they can choose the grounds group which includes food growing, conservation work, general grounds maintenance, regular bush craft sessions, cooking, building and many more opportunities.

Farm Clwb helps young people gain additional support, build confidence, improve their relationships and increase skills. Most of the young people struggle with a health or behavioural need so please be mindful and tolerant of them when visiting during activity days.
