We can't quite believe that the countdown is on and Christmas is just around the corner! We'll be giving our volunteers a well deserved rest over the festive period and the farm will be closed from 22nd December, reopening on 6th January.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our volunteers, community members and staff who have worked so hard and showed their support throughout the past year. And what a pretty special year it's been, as we have celebrated 25 years of our amazing farm transforming lives - which of course culminated in our super successful FarmFest event in September. We really couldn't have asked for a better celebration.💚

We may be closed for a short time over Christmas but there is still lots to look forward to before the end of the year, including our popular Festive Family Farm Funday! So sit back, grab a cuppa and take a few minutes to check out what's coming up over the next few months!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

CROWDFUNDER – HELP US RAISE 10K BY THE END OF JANUARY!

We’ve launched our Coginio Ynghyd (Cooking Together) Crowdfunder - and we NEED YOUR HELP to raise £10,000 by January 31st!

What are we fundraising for?

Our training kitchen urgently needs updating. After 14 years with very little investment (and a long closure during Covid), some of our cookers and ventilation need replacing - making it tough for our volunteers, many of whom are vulnerable or at-risk.

ree

Coginio Ynghyd (Cooking Together) will:

✔ Refresh and future-proof our training kitchen

✔ Make the space safer and more accessible

✔ Deliver a minimum of 10 free cookery workshops for at-risk community members

✔ Help people learn food skills, reduce isolation, build confidence and enjoy warm, healthy meals together

From adults facing mental health challenges to young people struggling in school, our volunteers tell us this place changes – and even saves – lives. Cooking together is one of the most loved, social and empowering activities we offer.

We’re incredibly grateful to Mortgage Advice Bureau Foundation & Mortgage Advice Bureau - Swansea who are generously match-funding up to £5,000 — which means your donation will be TRIPLED.

If you donate £10 → we receive £40

If you donate £25 → we receive £100

Every pound goes three times further in helping our community - thank you, Mortgage Advice Bureau!

Help us reach £10,000 by January 31st — and remember, your donation will be tripled!

Sign up for our 50+ Cookery Workshops - Starting in January!

Speaking of our cookery programme, thanks to COAST Winter of Wellbeing funding from Swansea Council, Swansea Community Farm will be running another series of FREE engaging cookery workshops for the 50+ community throughout January and February.

ree

We're offering 8 hands-on sessions covering a wide range of comforting classics. Each workshop takes place on a Tuesday 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, culminating in a shared meal at 12:30 PM.

Join us and learn to prepare some great easy to cook dishes. Spaces are limited so get in touch to book now and hone your culinary skills in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

We Need A Driver!

Do you have free time every Tuesday for a couple of hours? Do you have a driving license and your own car or van? Do you want to make a difference and give back to your local community?

Then please get in touch!

We are looking for a volunteer to help us with food pick-ups for our essential Community Pantry.

Run for the Farm!

Throughout 2025, our volunteers, community members and staff continued to amaze us with their dedication to the farm and the work that we do. Earlier this year, volunteer Vic and staff member Cerys (along with her family!) took on the Swansea 10K and raised vital funds for the farm.

As we look ahead to 2026, why not get involved yourself? Whether you’re already a keen runner or thinking about entering your first race, taking part is an amazing way to support our charity.

ree

We have teamed up with Frontrunner Events and have spaces available for supporters to sign up directly through us!

For just £12, you will receive:

  • FREE Swansea Community Farm running vest

  • FREE race entry

  • Support from us throughout your fundraising

All we ask is that you aim to raise a minimum of £300 for the farm.

You can sign up to any of the following 2026 races:

  • February 8th – Llanelli Half Marathon or 10K

  • March 8th – Great Welsh Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K

  • June 7th – Swansea Half Marathon

If you’re interested or would like more information, simply email us at: info@swanseacommunityfarm.org.uk and we’ll take it from there.

We can’t wait to cheer you on!
