Green Match Fund Week Success: A Massive Thank You!

What a week – and what a way to celebrate 25 years of Swansea Community Farm! As part of our Big Give Green Match Fund campaign – Plant Penderry – we set out to raise £10,000 in donations, which would be doubled to £20,000. While we didn’t quite reach the full target, thanks to your incredible support we raised an amazing £6,380 in online donations, which has been doubled – and with Gift Aid, brings our final total to a truly amazing £14,000 (all raised in just one week)!

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who got involved – whether you donated, attended an event, took on a challenge, or simply cheered us on and shared our campaign. It’s your passion and belief in our work that makes everything we do possible.

Here's just a snapshot of the brilliant things that happened during the week:

🚴‍♀️ Child and Youth Officer Katie’s family Richard and David took on an epic 42-mile bike ride, raising £700, which was doubled to an amazing £1400! Thanks to Mirador Property Sales and Lettings, and Pili-Pala Farm for loaning the use of the bikes.

🏓 Frenz Pickleball Group raised £250 through a cracking Easter-themed raffle – which was matched to £500! Diolch!

🍰 Our volunteer run Bake Sale brought joy (and sugar!) to the farm – raising a fantastic £200 - doubled to £400!

🍛 Quiz & Curry Night was a sell-out success! Thanks to everyone who came, quizzed, and tucked into a delicious meal – your generosity helped push us to £7,000 at the halfway point of the campaign!

🦋 Our Playschemes were full of life – from meeting baby goats to exploring minibeasts, kids and families came together for nature, fun, and learning. Every penny donated during the playschemes was put towards the project and doubled.

🐔 Our young volunteers hit the streets dressed as animals and raised an amazing £443 – what an inspiring bunch!

None of this would have been possible without you – our supporters, volunteers, event organisers, and community champions. Whether you baked, biked, dressed up, donated, or simply spread the word – thank you.

You helped us raise £14,000 that will go directly into our Plant Penderry project, supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing. Connecting them with nature, helping them to learn eco-skills, and build brighter futures.
