If you would like a day in the sunshine wandering through some beautiful nature, then you need to bring your family to visit the Farm this Saturday 14th May for our BioBlitz!

We are teaming up with South East Wales Biodiversity Records Centre (SEWBRec) to discover the wonderful wildlife of Cadle Heath Local Nature Reserve (which many don’t know is right on our doorstep)! There will be wildflower walks at 10am and 1pm, but drop in any time for other activities. We will be based in the yard at the Farm, so please find us there and we'll point you to where the action is.
There will also be a bat walk in the evening, meeting at 8.30pm (booking essential). *Please note: The Bat walk is currently fully booked however, please check back as some spaces may become available closer to the date: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bat-walk-at-cadle-heath-tickets-329783028917?fbclid=IwAR2d1KS4P7CC-Uz8mUqLVJ1wiS9xh8GYQUWgUqRftMWdPDGW0jlINam3FCs

A BioBlitz at the farm sounds like a great way to spend the day—getting outside and recording local wildlife is always worthwhile. On a slightly different note, I’ve been helping out with a community garden space that has a small greenhouse, and we ran into issues with overheating during sunny spells. To keep the temperature more stable without blocking light, we used https://www.tintfit.com/ on some of the panels, and it made a noticeable difference for seedlings and young plants. It’s a simple adjustment that helps extend the usable growing season and keeps the space comfortable for volunteers.
