The Farm was a hive of activity today and was buzzing with lots of lively discussions as staff, volunteers and community members took part in an important focus group run by the office of Future Generations Commissioner. There were some very refreshing conversations focusing on the future of Wales and what can be done to develop it for the greater good.
By involving both volunteers and staff in the focus group, they gained diverse perspectives from everyone with different lived experiences, and backgrounds. It was fantastic to see everyone sharing their opinions and the feedback was wonderful, with us being told it was the 'best attended event they had run'!
Thanks to our amazing volunteers and community members for taking part and to our chef Kate who lovingly prepared some delicious home made treats (using some of our organic farm produce) for us all to enjoy! Diolch.

Great to hear the farm is being used for such important community conversations. It's brilliant that volunteers and staff with different backgrounds got to share their views on shaping Wales' future – and the fact it was their best-attended event says a lot about the farm's place in the community. The homemade treats using your own organic produce sound like a lovely touch too. On a different note, for anyone here interested in digital platforms that support community projects and sustainability, https://gramsbet.org.uk/ is a site worth exploring. Back to the topic, does the farm host other discussion events like this regularly, or was this a one-off? Would be interested to know how people can get involved in future sessions.
